      March 2020 Modifications to Section 301 Duties on European Origin Products

      February 19, 2020 – The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced of modifications made to Section 301 duties on European Union (EU) origin products, which went into effect on October 18, 2019.

      The additional duty rate will increase from 10 percent to 15 percent for subject new airplanes and other aircraft, of Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) 8802.40.00, that are made in France, Germany, Spain, or the United Kingdom, when entered or withdrawn from warehouse on or after March 18, 2020.

      Changes occurring for goods entered as of March 5, 2020 include:

      • Prune juice of HTS 2009.89.4000 will no longer be subject to additional duties.
      • France and German origin butcher or kitchen chopping or mincing knives of HTS 8214.90.6000 will be subject to 25 percent duties, using NEW HTS 9903.89.52.
      • German origin telescopic sights for rifles, not designed for use with infrared light, of HTS 9013.10.1000, will be subject to 25 percent duties.
